Summary

The National Trust looks after 350 historic houses, gardens and parks and more than 250,000 hectares of coast and countryside on behalf of the nation. We provide access to these beautiful, historic and natural places for everyone, for ever. In 2016, we had more than 20 million visits to our places and were supported by 4.7 million members, 60,000 volunteers and over 10,000 staff. But we know we need to do much more to truly serve the nation and to provide public benefit for everyone, from any background.

We are now seeking to appoint a Head of Diversity and Inclusion to champion our mission to look after historic and beautiful places for everyone. We aim to be relevant and accessible to everyone, in every aspect of our work: from the experiences we provide and the stories we tell to the opportunities we offer to get involved in our work, as an employee or volunteer. Our Board of Trustees passionately want to see diversity hard-wired into how we work as an organisation, and your role will be to make it happen.
